The Arts and Letters Club, exterior

This is the Arts and Letters Club, where our wedding will be held. We get the whole building to ourselves for the day, which is great - no noise from competing bands in the next wedding room, as you would get in a standard venue with many weddings at the same time. I've played music for weddings at the Old Mill where half a dozen bridal groups were doing their photos in the same garden at once!

The hall's original name, St. George's Hall, is carved into the stone above the grand front doors of the building.

The historical plaque in the entranceway indicates that the building was built in 1891. It was built by the St. George's Society. In 1920, it became the home of the Arts and Letters Club, and was renovated, adding the baronial fireplace and choir gallery in the Great Hall. Dedicated to the arts and letters, the club is a popular venue for concerts, plays, revues, forums, talks, films and other events.
